Dr. Arun Danewa is a highly respected pediatric haematologist-oncologist and bone marrow transplant (BMT) specialist with more than 10 years of experience managing complex hematological and oncological disorders in children. He is widely recognized for clinical excellence, compassionate care, and meaningful contributions to advancing pediatric cancer and transplant care in India.
Dr. Danewa’s clinical expertise spans childhood leukemias, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, aplastic anaemia, and pediatric solid tumors, including brain, kidney, liver, and bone cancers. He has extensive experience in high-complexity stem cell transplantation and has successfully performed more than 500 pediatric bone marrow transplants, encompassing matched sibling, matched unrelated, and haploidentical transplants.
He completed his pediatric oncology training at the prestigious Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, after which he worked as a Clinical Associate for two years, gaining robust hands-on experience in managing high-risk pediatric oncology cases. He subsequently pursued an advanced fellowship in bone marrow transplantation in Bengaluru, where he developed specialized expertise in contemporary transplant techniques, including haploidentical stem cell transplantation.
Dr. Danewa has worked for more than four years at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, where he has managed the full spectrum of pediatric hematology-oncology conditions and played a key role in developing comprehensive transplant services. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in clinical research aimed at improving outcomes of pediatric stem cell transplantation, particularly in children with genetic blood disorders.
